Non-profit tax status for CCC
Today we achieved an important milestone for the supporters of the Compassionate Chefs Cafe. This was made possible by a good friend of CCC – Radha Stern, an amazing and generous soul with all the right connections.
Through her advisement, all funds donated to CCC will be handled and dispersed by Philanthropic Ventures Foundation. This allows all donors of $250 or more to get tax exempt credits.
For more information on PVF go to www.venturesfoundation.org or contact Moira C. Walsh, Associate Director at PFV. She can be reached by email at mwalsh@venturesfoundation.org or by phone at 510.645.1590.

May 20th event a success, get ready for November
The Compassionate Chefs Cafe hosted a very successful buffet and fund raiser on May 20th. Sixty-five people donated time and money while enjoying wonderful Indian fare. The crowd was made up of many people from the restaurant industry and friends of New Delhi Restaurant, it was a great chance to socialize and re-establish old ties.
Nearly $7,000 was raised for the Tenderloin After School Program in San Francisco and the Gandhi Ashram in New Delhi. All the staff donated their time, as well. Despite competing with Bay-to-Breakers held the same weekend – the turnout was robust. As usual, every dollar raised goes straight to the two organizations. None is spent on expenses or overhead.
The next event is being planned for November, 18th. Watch this space for more information.

Over 600 young men tried out in the first round of the casting that took place in Sofia, Bulgaria on February 4 and 5.
